The area south of Hyde Park is known as South Kensington and Knightsbridge.
Located here are most of the world's embassies and consulates and the proximity to the Royal Palace of Kensington which is still a royal residence and the world famous museums has given the area and upmarket status.

Just to the west of Knightsbridge are a number of attractions in this area, including the Victoria and Albert Museum and Science Museum. Knightsbridge is the heart of fashionable London. Harrods, Harvey Nichols and the shopping area of Sloane Street are here along with numerous excellent restaurants. Houses are rarer and most accommodation comprises of large flats and plush, serviced apartments. Elegant red brick mansion blocks overlooking Sloane Street, Hyde Park or one of the many garden squares prove very sought after. Brompton Square and Egerton Crescent boasting a number of elegant houses and pretty mews cottages, can be found west towards South Kensington or to the South and Chelsea. The trendy and upmarket area of South Kensington boasts many bars and restaurants to choose from.
